Why I Started FusePhase

An Introduction from the Founder & CEO, Jay Fife

Jay Fife_CEO & Founder of FusePhase

About a year ago, I was presented with the opportunity to do something new. Well, sort of.

For more than 30 years, I’ve been working within various areas of running a business – from financial management to the day-to-day operations. I’ve helped businesses double and triple their revenue, while priming them for purchase by venture capitalists.

Of course I’ve enjoyed helping businesses grow their margins. But what I’ve loved most of all is the process of identifying challenges within a business and coming up with smart solutions. You could say I really like a good problem to solve. There’s just something about putting all the pieces of the mosaic together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. That’s the good stuff.

To me, accounting has always been about more than just making businesses richer. It’s about making them better. This is how the idea of FusePhase came about.

With FusePhase, I get to do what I’ve always loved doing, but in a new way – and with the backing of some very capable folks. We offer businesses the strategic insights of an Operational CFO, along with our decades of accounting expertise, all through an outsourced solution that’s more affordable in the long term. It’s just good old-fashioned common sense, if you ask me.

On that note, I’m proud to introduce you to not only our site but our blog, where we’ll be tackling all subjects related to growing a business. We’re still getting the FusePhase service fully up and running, but we have plenty of things to share in the meantime to help you cut costs and make your business more efficient.

Sometimes I wonder why I didn’t do this years ago.

That reminds me: I was recently chatting with a stranger (if you’ve ever met me you’ll know this is one of my favorite pastimes) who asked me one of those out-of-the-blue philosophical questions, “If you could go back in time, is there anything in your life that you would do differently?”

While it may sound cliché, I’ll tell you what I told that individual, which is something I have to always remind myself: There’s not a single thing I’d do differently because everything led me to where I am today.

Today I’m in a position to help businesses of all shapes and sizes do what they love – while also doing what I love. That’s something to take pause and appreciate.

Whatever it is that you do – I hope you love it. And if you don’t, I hope you’re able to take the necessary step to make a change and find a better way. Because when you really think about it, that’s what life is all about, isn’t it?

Thanks for visiting.

Cheers,

Jay
